The Friction Self Aligning Idler is a specialized active protection device for belt conveyors. It is critical for preventing belt misalignment (off-tracking), which causes material spillage and severe damage to the belt edges.
Unlike passive guide rollers, our friction aligning set actively corrects the belt position using a highly sensitive rotating bracket system. It is widely used in mining, power plants, and port terminals where conveyor reliability is paramount.
Working Principle
- Detection: When the belt runs off-track, it touches the side Friction Wheel.
- Action: The friction force generates a torque that rotates the entire idler frame around its central shaft.
- Correction: The skewed angle of the rollers gently steers the belt back to the centerline automatically.
